Dockers is a brand name of Levi Strauss & Co.

In 1986, the Dockers brand introduced khakis as an alternative to dress pants and jeans to American men. One year later, the woman’s line was established.

In the mid 1990’s the Dockers marketing tagline "Nice Pants™" became one of the most popular taglines in advertising history and from that point forward, the Dockers brand led the business casual revolution.

Despite the emerging competition, Dockers has been in the vanguard of designing stylish, comfortable and easy-care apparel. With Dockers introduction of the Go Khaki® with Stain Defender® in 2002, Dockers quickly became a staple in the wardrobe of 8 out of 10 American men. Other Dockers features are: Individual Fit® waistband technology, Perspiration Guard® Shirts and Never-Iron™ Cotton Khakis have become quick favourites.

Through its worldwide popularity over the years, Dockers has been synonymous with khakis. As a result, Dockers has recently adopted the “Dockers San Francisco” global identity and marketing campaign to evolve the brand into a full lifestyle resource, providing head-to-toe style and performance for men, women and the home.

On June 6, 2005, former senior vice president and chief of Kmart Holding Corporation, John Goodman (not to be confused with the actor), took leadership as CEO of U.S. Dockers.
